Polisi nchini Brazil wametumia gesi ya kutoa machozi kuwatawanya waandamanaji katika mji mkuu Brasilia wanaopinga kuandaliwa kwa kombe la dunia nchini humo.

Polisi walipigwa kwa mawe huku mamia ya waandamanaji wakijaribu kufika uwanja wa kitaifa ambako kombe litakalopokezwa washindi wa kinyang’anyiro hicho limewekwa.

Haya ni maandamano ya hivi karibuni nchini Brazil kupinga gharama iliyotumiwa kuandaa kombe hilo.

Maafisa wakuu wanasema kuwa karibu watu 1,500 walihudhuria maandamano hayo yaliyofanyika Jumanne.

Waandamanaji hao walijaribu kwenda katika uwanja wa kitaifa ambao utakuwa mwenyeji wa mechi kadhaa za kombe la dunia ingawa polisi waliwazuia.

Polisi mmoja alijeruhiwa kwa mshale uliorushwa na mmoja wa waandamanaji wakati wa makabiliano kati ya polisi na waandamanaji hao. Waandamanaji hao walitatiza pakubwa msongamano wa magari mjini Brasilia kwa masaa kadhaa. Mwaka jana takriban watu milioni moja walishiriki maandamano kote nchini humo kutaka huduma bora zaidi za umma na kulalamikia ufisadi na gharama ya juu iliyotumiwa kuandaa kombe la dunia.

Nicki Minaj prepares 'next level' new album for 2014 release

Nicki Minaj has said she will release a new album in 2014, describing the sound of her material as "next level".

The US rapper last released an album in 2012 when she put out 'Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded'. Discussed its follow up with New York radio station Power 105, Minaj says she was surprised at how different her new music is as well as making her opinion on Kendrick Lamar's controversial 'Control' verse heard.

Discussing her new music, Minaj said: "I've already started... 2014 definitely! It's very different from anything I've done, which I'm surprised about. I'm not feeling like I did this. I feel like this is next level."

Moving on to Lamar, Minaj claimed that she should have been in the list of top rappers mentioned in the track. "I'm probably in the top five he did mention so go and do your research. Straight up and down," she said. "I also feel like maybe he is one of the respectful gentleman that probably wanted to feel like I didn't want to say a females name. I'm the queen of New York, I'm the king of New York," she continued. "Let me tell you why. Platinum albums, plural. Number one in five motherfucking countries. Don’t play with me. Lamar caused a furore when 'Control (HOF)' premiered in August. After proclaiming himself king of New York, and himself, Jay Z, Nas, Eminem and Andre 3000 as the greatest MCs of all time, Lamar then goes on to pledge to "murder" his current competitors, including A$AP Rocky and Drake, in the verse.

Nicki Minaj released her debut album 'Pink Friday' in 2010. Despite not releasing any new music in 2013, she has featured on tracks by artists including French Montana, Chris Brown and Ciara.
